As with other popular restaurants, I can see how the room could get pretty noisy with the bar crowd and diners having a good time but when we visited on a Sunday late afternoon, the noise level was fine. While the prices of the entrees are a little pricey, I feel the price is justified for the quality of what you receive. I thought the prices of wine, cocktails and appetizers were very reasonable. Their liquor and specialty cocktail list is extensive and the ones we tried were delicious. The manager came over to make sure we were happy. My taste buds were exploding!! For main courses, my wife and I ordered the Salmon and the Flank Steak. We also decided to try the grilled cauliflower appetizer which was perfectly seasoned. Our oysters on the half shell were cold and delicious. I had been looking forward to trying Ember & Iron but was a little hesitant after reading a few of the reviews. Everything worked well, and it was properly cooked. SWEET TEA BRINED BONE IN PORK CHOP $27: very good dish. Unfortunately, the soup itself tasted more like salt water. ![]() The server kindly took it back and brought back soup without crema. WOOD FIRE GRILLED TOMATO SOUP WITH BASIL CREMA $6: way too salty! The basil crema was extremely salty and not good. SEARED LUMP CRAB CAKE $13: good flavor, slightly spicy, good amount of crab. Light whipped butter, pepper jelly, and jam were good. LOGAN TURNPIKE MILL SKILLET CORNBREAD $7: overcooked, microwaved Jiffy cornbread. Tap water is not filtered, so it has that strong NE Florida swamp funk and flavor.
